Our Team
Robert Marshall – Managing Director
Robert has been involved in automotive and industrial engines for nearly 40 years, having started as an automotive technician in the family Volkswagen & Audi dealerships in Reading. He worked for a number of years for a large dealer group in London in all areas of after-sales and management, followed by time at Toyota UK. In 1997, he re-joined the family industrial engine business in Wallingford as General Manager and then Managing Director.
Charles Thurman-Baker – Sales Manager
Charles has 40 years of experience in industrial engines and equipment. He started his career as an agricultural technician, moving to marine engineering for a number of years. He worked in the Kubota UK industrial engines division and Volvo Penta, both roles including direct involvement in the sales and technical installation of industrial engines in all areas of the industry.
Adam Wise – Technical & Operations Manager
Adam has been involved with automotive and industrial engines for 35 years, having been a Master Technician at a Volkswagen & Audi dealership in Reading and a Technical Engineer and now Technical & Operations Manager at Marshall’s since 1997. Having worked on modern fully electronic, automotive and industrial engines for many years, he has the depth of knowledge and understanding required for the installation and support of the current generation of fully-electronic, emissions-compliant Doosan Industrial engines we supply.
Technical Support – Graham Edwards
Graham has 45 years’ experience in development, engine build and repair. He supports the technical operation with prototype product development, bill of material kit development and sub assembly.
Logistics Team
We have a logistics team with years of experience in the control and processing of global purchasing and supply of industrial engines, automotive components and gaseous fuel systems to support OEMs for production, right down to individual spare parts supply to end users.

Some years working for a large dealer group in London an all areas of Aftersales and Management followed by time working at Toyota UK. In 1997 he re-joined the family Industrial engine business in Wallingford as General Manager and then Managing Director.

How It All Began
Marshall’s began in a garden shed when Edward Marshall started repairing bicycles for the local community. He moved on to motorcycles and cars and opened his first garage in Reading nearly 100 years ago, later being joined by his sons after they proved themselves in other businesses. This family ethos and the values it brings runs through the Marshall’s business to this day, with third generation Robert Marshall now leading the company.
